Even better than...

Temperature: 27 c

Weather: Cloudy

Last week, a group of friends comprised of Americans, Australians, Malaysians and Indonesians, led by a Malaysian couple, went for lunch at a Malaysian restaurant called “Nyonya Kitchen” or 娘惹风情.

The lunch reminded me of Malaysia because I ordered a Hainanese Chicken Rice. The chicken rice was not even close to half the quality of the chicken rice we had in Kuala Terengganu, but it was enough for me to satisfy my 乡愁 (missing home).

Anyway, today’s short entry is not about the Malaysian lunch.

After the lunch, we went for a walk to shop for some DVDs nearby. I was so happy and excited to see 2 DVD shops located opposite to each other.

One DVD shop is called “Movie World”. It has all the DVDs (of course not originals) you could think of: documentary, Hollywood, Japanese, Korean, Hong Kong Drama etc. DVDs are sold at RMB 7 per disc. If you are looking for a better quality DVD with excellent audio effect (i.e. DVD 12), it is priced at RMB 12 per disc, still a great bargain.

When we have finished buying DVDs from Movie World (I bought The Rock, Borat, Fantastic 4 and my dad’s 大国崛起), we walked across the road to the opposite DVD shop.

You know what, the DVD shop located opposite “Movie World” is called “Even Better Than Movie World”!!

Wow! Competition in China is stiff. This is definitely a dog eat dog world!

the "even better than movie world" is actually "even better than movie WORID"...
They purposely wrote it "WORID" instead of "WORLD" izzit?
or it's my eyes' problem? @@"
